Preceptor/ Mentor/Consultation

Jenny is available for midwifery precepting, typically academic work and is currently working with students from the National College of Midwifery, administrative offices in Taos, NM.  A preceptor is a dedicated person who teaches and instructs a specific skill set to help soon-to-be practitioners progress through training and program completion. A preceptor often has the ability to take a longer view of the goals in place and help the student stay focused, on track and mindful of why they wanted this training in the first place. Preceptors follow and adhere to a learning contract, created by the agency the preceptor works for, and between the preceptor and the student/apprentice, to ensure goals, program completion, expectations, financial compensation, refunds and termination criteria are clearly defined for both parties’ benefit and success.

Contact Jenny if you are interested. Fees for each student and precepting opportunity is on a case-by-case basis.

Mentorship

Sharing the knowledge, inspiration, guidance, advice, motivation, resources, emotional support and experience, a mentor shares all of these, depending on the format and goals of a specific situation, challenge or goal.  Services and support available for midwifery students, recently graduated and starting out in practice midwives as well as experienced midwives needing a place to share, regroup or redefine what is needed to continue practicing as a midwife.

Placenta Education

What Your Placenta Can Do For You ~ Who Knew?!

What if I told you that there is a supplement you can take after your baby’s birth that would ensure a good milk supply, reduce your postpartum bleeding from weeks to days, give you real energy (not the fake caffeine kind) and help protect you from postpartum depression.  Would you be interested?

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach releasing tensions trapped deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health, performance and well-being. CST was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician, John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University, where he served as professor of biomechanics.

Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues we all have surrounding the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for it’s ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it’s effective for a wide range of problems associated with pain and dysfunction.  Often improves sleep for several nights post session, some client’s report emotional relief and a new sense of ‘feeling like themselves again’. Works for specific issues and/or used ‘routinely’ to prevent and maintain optimal body communication and function.  Jenny also works on newborns and infants. Initial visit is $75, all other visits are $60/hr.

Total Body Modification

This is an exciting, dynamic and sophisticated system using kinesiology (muscle testing) that allows the practitioner to find the imbalances, or blockages, impairing optimum health and function. Total Body Modification (TBM) deals with the underlying causes, not just the symptoms, as it sets the body in motion to heal itself.  TBM techniques are able to evaluate, reset and rebalance or “turn on” internal organs and most of the known body functions by stimulating reflex points typically located along the spine. ( A combination of muscle testing, tapping along the spine in specific sequences and breathing.)

TBM is used to balance blood sugar metabolism, improve water utilization, neurological function (thinking, concentration, memory), strengthen the immune system’s response (virus, bacteria, fungus/yeast, parasites), open energy circuits to facilitate energy flow, enhance digestion and circulation, identify organs struggling to function optimally, and is quite effective in clearing emotional blocks.

TBM is also wonderful at eliminating allergies and sensitivities to foods and the environment, harmonizing the body to the effects of medications, pollutants, and toxins of all sorts.  A typical treatment session lasts between 15 and 75 minutes, with the client fully clothed, both sitting and lying down at times. Treatments may be repeated as necessary, depending on the condition and the client’s needs.  Initial visit is $75, all other visits are $60/hr.
